Eden Prairie High School

 

Eden Prairie has been home to the Eden Prairie High School for over 70 years. Eden Prairie High School has evolved from a class of nine graduating students, to 853 students in the class of 2004. The Department of Minnesota and the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools accredit Eden Prairie High School.

 

Eden Prairie High School has many high-tech facilities. These include the Performing Arts Center that was opened in 1999; the EagleVision Studio; the PrairieDome; and their most recent addition, the Activity Center that opened in 2000. Plus, Eden Prairie High School offers more than 350 courses during the school year, which consists of four terms. A typical school day is divided into four separate 87-minute periods. Eden Prairie High School requires that their graduates earn a minimum of 48 credits and all students must pass the Minnesota Basic Skills Test in reading, writing and math.

 

The majority of Eden Prairie High School students surpasses the minimum requirements and completes a full high school curriculum in all disciplines. The students also have the opportunity of other extra curriculum activities, including many Fine Arts Clubs, Athletics and Sports Clubs and much more. Moreover, it comes as no surprise to learn that Eden Prairie High School has been named a 'Blue Ribbon School of Excellence' and has been one of only 28 schools nationally to be awarded special honors distinction in 'leadership of educational technology'.
